ALPSIn 1928, just before the years of the depression, four Italian inmigrants from the Piedmont region of Italy came to the USA to establish a better way of life for their families. After a few years of working hard, they managed to save enough money to open their own little business. They inmediately put the skills they had learned from their fathers to their best advantage. The small pork store which they openeded on 28th St. and 10th Ave. in Manhattan has grown into what Alps is today, not a large corporation but a small company that to this day the managment and the workers still share the same dining table and everyone is known by their first name. The managment of the Alps Provision Co. believes that in order to mantain a quality product, love, dedication, and hard work is still the only way to give the consumer a product that is worthy of the name Alps.
